Intense Pulse Light (IPL) uses light to rejuvenate the skin without harming the surface of the skin.
What is IPL Photofacial?
IPL treatments provide a non-invasive light based therapy that leads to healthier looking skin by targeting pigmentation, excessive redness, broken blood vessels, and reducing pore size. IPL therapy can be used on any area of the body to minimize the signs of sun damage and aging.
Who Can Benefit from IPL Photofacial?
The IPL Photofacial Treatment is able to treat a wide range of skin concerns. It can improve the appearance of brown and red spots, freckles, redness, sun damage, rosacea, pigment imperfections and more. At Skinfinity Medspa, we always provide a complimentary consultation prior to your first treatment to determine if IPL is the best treatment for you and get you on a pre-treatment regimen if necessary.
How Does IPL Work?
IPL Photofacial works by emitting various wavelengths into the skin that effectively target the cells that produce pigment. This light energy is converted into heat energy to reach the hyperactive melanin-producing cells in the skin, which eventually disperses the pigmented area. Pigmented spots are pulled to the surface of the skin and eventually flake off. IPL sessions are typically spaced approximately 4 weeks apart. During your consultation, a Skinfinity specialist will recommend the number of treatments necessary based on your needs and concerns.
What Can Be Expected After IPL Photofacial Treatment?
Typically, there is minimal downtime associated with the IPL treatment and patients are able to go about the rest of their daily activities. Makeup can be worn the following day. Although downtime is brief, it is important to stay out of the direct sun for at least a week and apply a daily sunscreen.
